Slim-size port-carrier borehole pressure generator “Plast-36” is used for gas-dynamic fracturing on coil-tubing or wireline to improve hydrodynamic communication with the formation and to increase inflow or injectivity of its bottomhole zone by exposure of combustion products of propellant charges through small-diameter downhole equipment.
Operating Principle:
GDS “Plast-36” is initiated by the hydraulic firing head ISKRA 38 (TOR) when lowered on coil-tubing or the blasting cartridge when lowered on wireline. The initiation results in high-speed combustion of propellant charges causing an instantaneous increase in pressure with the speed up to 10⁴ MPa/s. It leads to gas-dynamic fracture of the formation and to creation of a fracture network in the reservoir within the perforated interval.
Main Technology Components:
Technology for perforation of the injection well stock using a no-workover-team approach (restoration of injectivity):- All operations are carried out by a well-logging crew with a lubricator, tower (crane) or coil-tubing unit;
- Preliminary reperforation by a slim-size gun KPO36 on wireline or coil-tubing;
- Stimulation of the productive interval in several passes by GDS “Plast-36” on wireline or coil-tubing.
Technology Advantages
- Efficient and cost-effective way to significantly increase the injectivity of injection wells without lifting underground equipment;
- Minimum drift diameter of GDS “Plast-36” and the gun KPO36 is 42 mm which allows for using this technology in almost all injection wells;
- Multipurpose software “Plast” for calculation of perforation layout allows for adjustment of all the necessary parameters to achieve maximum effect.
GDS “Plast-36” Specific Features
- No clogging elements in the well after the operation;
- Initiation unit design allows for using a combination of active (with central through channel) and main propellant charges in the stimulation generator;
- A special container for the installation of two standard-design crusher units for advanced pressure analysis during generator operation;
- Generator carrier has 120 holes per 1 meter at phasing 60 degrees which allows for optimal distribution of the gas pressure front in the reperforated interval;
- The length of the generator assembly when lowered on coil-tubing can only be limited by the length of the lubricator lock chamber.
